Monologue / spoken poetry ( 2007 )

Clear
Clarity
de-baggage
de-mistify
Residue
Reminiscence
Whimsical
Nonsense
Intolerable
Impatient
Searching
For a gun
to shoot at a star
then unfold
curl up
Read
on one another’s  bellies of
discontent
contented
a hundred years ago, going over the same thing
Repetition
is a strong word
reminders.
No man or person should
Re-taliate
argue
shout
a word of anger
said in haste
has in
re-mittance
A regular heart beat tells me
you are still beating
still alive
piegeon-holed
you can’t
believe I could still get you
if you really wanted to
but I shan’t because
you are young
and you are too old
I wish
that star would explode and history
would repeat the same and same again.

Oh but I dropped the cup and saucer,
it smashed onto the floor
and broke into a million tiny pieces,
and I swear I heard a shudder
Something shiftied
ever so slightly
like a pattern that
emerged
Broke
And I smiled
I am sure the job was a well done
Who knows?
It was smashing
And subtle at the same time,
like the world shifted every so slightly
but boy if you knew what it meant.

I think I would be here forever
